Why Do I Have to Pay Out of Pocket for a Repair If My Vehicle Is Still Under Warranty
So what’s the big idea here! Since my vehicle is less than three years old and certainly fall within the warranty allowed km, why does my service adviser advising me to pay for a diagnostic fee The problem is much simpler than you think, it is due to miscommunication. When you purchased the vehicle from your sales person, he or she probably failed to explain that warranty coverage on your vehicle is not quite as literal as bumper to bumper. No manufacturer’s warranty today that will cover items such as brakes, windshield or tires. These are considered to be wear and tear items, or expenses that will have to come out of your pocket as part of your vehicle’s regular maintenance. If you are bringing in your vehicle for obvious warranty related repairs, such as power window failure, why do you still have to face the potential diagnostic fee
Take a moment and think about this scenario from the dealership’s perspective. Your power window may have failed due to a faulty part, which will be covered 100% under the manufacturer’s warranty both parts and labor. But what if you have recently tinted your windows and the technician got some soap water into the power window motor causing it to fail prematurely then it is a completely different story. This scenario does happen from time to time, the responsibility in this case should have fell under the tinting company instead of the manufacturer. Your service adviser at your local repair shop is just trying to be courteous by explaining the potential cost, since there is no way of telling the cause of the problem before removing your door panels. If the cause of your power window failure is due to soap water, you will be facing a diagnostic fee or the time spent by the technician locating the source of the problem.
What’s Wrong With My Car – It Will Not Start
There is nothing more frustrating than getting in your car after a hard day’s work, turning the key to your chariot of freedom… and nothing happens. Or getting up, fighting with the kids to get them ready and finally out the house and when you turn the key you just get a click, click, click, click. If your 4 year old is like mine he’s still asking what’s wrong with the car, did you break it Finding this situation in your lap can be frustrating and make you scream what’s wrong with my car Usually it’s a simple problem that just take’s the right resources and of course a little moolah.
Like I always say, knowing is half the battle. Unless you know or are interested in knowing about repairing vehicles it’s just best to leave the diagnosis and repair up to professionals, or at least the guy you trust to answer what’s wrong with my car. Whatever the decision, you have to come to peace with the fact your car is probably in good hands. It helps you sleep that night when your Service Advisor calls to tell you that the part didn’t come in and they need to keep it another day. I know. He said it would be ready this afternoon, but how was he to know that they would send him the wrong part in the right box. Now you are suspicious of these characters and worrying yourself to death about the people they get their parts from and how am I going to get to work in the morning What’s wrong with my car…..You get the picture. So trust your decision.
